What is the difference between a color and a hue? According to a dictionary, color is sensation produced on eye by rays of light when resolved as a single wavelength. Some might say it's wavelength composition of light.

Light is needed in order for a human to see color. Humans started to use color over 30000 years ago. Humans used natural color to draw the beautiful painting in the caves.

It slowly evolve from discoveries of new color by mixing two or more color together. Plato discovered that the mixing of different colors can create new colors. There are thousands of different types of color that can be found from his discoveries.

They believe that color has healing properties. The Chinese started to use color as part of their healing practice in the 2000 years. In the early 20th century, studies were done to see if color could be used as a therapy for depression and migraines.

The three primaries have a universal reaction towards it. The red color will make people feel very sad. It can bring excitement, energy, desire, speed, heat, love and all things passionate.

Color Blindness

Symptoms can be different from person to person. Some symptoms are so mild that they are not obvious to the person who is color blind. A parent can often see a vision defect in their child.

Do people tell you that the color you are seeing is not the same color as you think? Can you tell the difference between the shades of the same color? The same colors seem to be used by blind people who make up a small population.

It is easy for a person to mistake a red traffic light for a yellow or amber light, or to fail to distinguish a green traffic light from a white one, if they are driving in a bad weather. Light people have a very coarse preference. People prefer a dark skinned person to a lighter skinned one. Colorism is often gendered. Women are more aware of their skin color and face it differently than men.

Designers use color theory to communicate with users through appealing color schemes in visual interface. Designers use a color wheel to pick the best colors, and they use a lot of knowledge about human optical ability, psychology, culture and more.
